Church Events

Vacation Bible School (VBS):

VBS is held annually each summer for grades 3K-6th. We share Bible accounts in fun, tangible ways that help children to learn about their Savior and build friendships. We build community and faith through Bible lessons, games, crafts, snacks, music, and Bible exploration/experiments.

Christmas VBS:

At Christmas VBS, we focus on giving instead of receiving. We wish Jesus a Happy Birthday and remember that the whole point of the Christmas season is that he came to save us. We do all of the same fun activities as the summertime VBS (games, crafts, et cetera), and we also pack Operation Christmas Child boxes full of gifts that go to children in impoverished areas of the world to share God’s love with them.

Sunday School:

Our Sunday School exists to plant seeds of biblical truth in the hearts of children. During the school year, our teachers and students meet at our school from 10:30-11:30 each Sunday. We have four different groups that meet: 3K – Kindergarten, 1st-3rd, 4th-6th, and 7th-12th.

We take our responsibility to "train up a child" seriously. We use a structured curriculum that walks students through the entire Bible over the course of their time with us because we want every child to understand the basics of God’s Word. But it’s not just about Bible stories, we care about teaching children how to apply God’s Word to their daily lives. Additionally, because of the centrality of Christ to our faith, every lesson points back to Jesus and his work. We know that a child’s faith is their most important possession, so students are also encouraged to ask questions and start discussions.

Sunday School Christmas Program:

Each year, after weeks of practice, our Sunday School children present a Christmas service on December 24th at 4:00. The focus is always on using the Bible to proclaim the truth about Christmas: that God came to earth in the person of Jesus to save us from our sins!

Chop Suey Supper:

On a Wednesday evening every April, we sell our famous chop suey as a fundraiser for our school. All are welcome to join us! The chop suey is take-out only via a drive-thru. Be prepared to wait in line, a dinner this good is always very popular! Along with the main course, you’ll receive a dinner roll, choy mein noodles, and a homemade dessert.

Advent by Candlelight:

The Ladies Advent by Candlelight is a great way to turn Christmas stresses into a season of peace and wonder! It helps to ease the hustle and bustle of the obligations that fill our calendars. When the birth of our Savior, Jesus, becomes our focus, all other commitments seem to fall in place.

We gather together for an afternoon of Christmas music, fellowship, dessert and an Advent message. We leave with His peace; knowing, practicing, and celebrating the true meaning of Christmas, our Savior Jesus.

Cookie Walk:

On the second Sunday of December each year, our Ladies’ Aid and Parent-Teacher League (PTL) host a cookie walk. There are thousands of homemade cookies to choose from, and you can purchase either a flat or a tin to fill with the cookies of your choosing.

Sunday Bible Study:

Following the church service on Sunday mornings, we bring the coffee and treats downstairs for a weekly Bible study. We engage with a variety of Bible studies – some are straight study of a book of the Bible, others are theme based, and others are more application based. Everyone is welcome. It’s a good place to ask questions and to go deeper in your faith. We wrap up by 11:30. We take off during the summer months.

Lenten Suppers:

Prior to each midweek-Lenten service, a different group in the church hosts a supper. From tacos to soup, each group has their own specialty to share with the congregation during this time of food and fellowship. All are welcome; the food is free and a freewill offering is collected.

Church Picnic:

Every summer we hold our worship service in the park with a picnic that follows. There are games and a water slide for the kids. The community is welcome to join us. The date varies.
