Getting Connected

Thank you for taking the time to consider getting connected to our church – we hope that you will! On these pages, you’ll find ways to serve in our church, get help from our church and others in the area, and join our church. If there’s something you can’t find here or if you have questions, please contact our church office.

Connected at the Cross

Above is a picture of four people connected by the cross of Jesus. The image reminds us that it’s his loving, sacrificial death that should inspire us to get involved and reach out in love to connect with our neighbors at St. John, in Berlin, and around the world.

In the Bible, God consistently teaches us that, inspired by his love and service to us, we’re to love and serve others in his church and in our community. 1 John 4:19 says, “We love because he first loved us.” And in Galatians 6:10, Paul wrote, “So then, as we have opportunity, let us do good to everyone, and especially to those who are of the household of faith.” These pages were developed to help you do just that. Here, you’ll find various opportunities to get connected to our church and community by serving.

Before you dive in, take a moment right now to stop reading and pray; ask God to put on your heart how he would like you to get connected.

Now, as you go through these pages, consider the passions and talents that God has given you; when you notice an opportunity that connects with you, take a note. When you’d like to get started, contact the church so that we can get you in touch with the leaders of the ministries you feel called to join – then you can start serving our Lord!

One more thing, if there are needs you see that aren’t being met or if you have passions don’t fit with what we offer, please set up a meeting with the pastor so together we can talk about what we can do to start a new ministry at our church and/or school.

May God bless you!
