Getting Help
Repeatedly in the Bible, God teaches his people to care for those with needs of any kind because God has cared for our greatest need by sending his Son, Jesus, to die to forgive our sins. We want you to know that we care about you and want to help. Please start with the links and information below. If nothing here looks helpful, please contact our church. Thank you and may God bless you!
- Celebrate Recovery is for anyone with hurts, habits, or hangups of any kind. At Celebrate Recovery, you’ll experience God’s healing power for whatever you’re struggling with through worship, teaching, group support, and a Bible-focused, twelve-step program. We don’t have a Celebrate Recovery at St. John, but River Shores, a nearby church, does; click here to access their webpage.
- GriefShare is for those mourning the loss of a loved one. Whether the grief is fresh or still clinging after many years, GriefShare brings together help from grief experts and God’s Word. It’s a 13-week support group in a safe, welcoming place to help you move through the grief process that has helped many people. We don’t have a GriefShare group at St. John, but there are many groups in our area; click here to find a group.
- DivorceCare is a Bible-based, life-changing support group that welcomes people and guides them on the path of recovery after separation or divorce. We don’t have a DivorceCare group at St. John, but River Shores, a nearby church, does; contact them here to get more information.

- Assistance: At St. John, we have a Human Care Committee that takes requests for various types of assistance such as taxi rides, rental assistance, utilities assistance, etc. We do not guarantee help, but we will try our best to assist. If you are interested, please contact our church and our pastor will be in touch with you. He’d like to meet you, hear your story, and have you fill out a short form.
- Prayer: We believe that prayer is just as important as physical help because it brings our loving, almighty God into the picture. We have an active prayer chain that would love to bring your needs to God. Please contact our church with your prayer request to be put on our prayer chain.
- Talk to our Pastor: If there’s anything else that you’re struggling with, please don’t hesitate to contact our pastor for a phone call or to set up a time to meet. He’ll do his best to help.
